Scent detection is an art form in dog training that is best described as a methodology with many nuances. Two very well respected trainers who are well known for their work in scent training join us for this episode.

Jerry Bradshaw and Cameron Ford join us again, this time together, to share their ideas and techniques in scent training.

Like most trainers, both of these gentlemen have their respective style. Although we may have our preferences, we can’t deny good training and results.

Making sense of scents is a skill set that all good detection trainers should strive for. Additionally, it not only improves the dogs we train but the students we coach.

We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did.

For more information or to contact them, Jerry is at Tarheel Canine and Cameron is at Ford K9

Cannabalism in the indutry is also about a lack of support in the industry for each other. We find it incredibly frustrating that small groups of people just seem to want to go it alone. Can you imagine how much better it may be if we joined forces? Still doing our own thing but using our collectove might to speak up on issues. not just the small ones but the big ticket items.

We need to be better than this. The lack of support in the industry is honestly alarming. The dog sport groups being the worst. When we do talk about the cannabalism in the industry, it starts with many of these groups and works its way around.

Our groups don’t need to be best friends. We don’t all need to hang out with each other and yes, we can agree to disagree. All of us need to think about what’s happening outside our own pettiness. Who’s lobbying against us and what are they planning on taking away or stopping next?

These issues never go away and they will be with our children, however it’s what we do now that makes the difference. Other groups never rest. They never leave the wheel unmanned and they have far more people willing to take that wheel.

What’s even more surpring is that each side thinks they are the good guys. Each side feels they are doing the right thing. All side feels they are the champions of the dogs. Each side believes they are saving lives.

Pat Stuart is dog his part to prevent cannabalism in the industry at Operant Canine

Glenn Cooke knows that lack of support in the industry will be our downfall and wont allow that at Canine Evolution

End of year circle jerk is a celebration of accomplishments within our show for 2108. We would like to thank everyone who listened, made time for interviews, helped, gave feedback and believed in us.

We have both had a phenomenal year, making friend, reaching out, learning about others and networking. The stories and the people we have met on the journey have been surreal to say the least.

We cannot thank you enough for taking us into your homes, laughing, crying, learning and celebrating with us.

2018 was a great year and we want to make 2019 even better and we would love your input into how we can make that happen. If there’s a person you think we should interview, let us know. If there’s a topic you think we should discuss, tell us about it. If there’s a fucker in the industry we need to tear apart, drop us a line.

Finally, we want to send warm gooey love to our Patreon supporters. You cannot know what your support means to us and how much we appreciate your patronage.

We hope you enjoy the End of year circle jerk as much as we did putting it together.

Have a safe and Happy New Year everyone. We love you all
