Following up on being bitten takes off from episode 132 where we initially spoke about the subject. Because we had so many people reaching out that had also been bitten, we decided it would be a good idea to follow up.

So many of our listeners shared personal experiences of the personal anguish they were going through.

We had to follow up as a testimony to their bravery, as being bitten and living with the memory can be difficult.

Our listeners shared in their vulnerability, guilt and shame and how they are coping to this day.

Hopefully if you have been silent but this resonates, it will help you find some help or peace.

Jay Jack on Flexi’s at IACP was always bound to be a topic of controversy and hilarity mixed with education. It’s almost impossible now to know this show and not know Jay Jack as he has contributed a so much. In fact you would most likely know of his podcast with Chad Mackin, Dog training conversations.

So at this years conference, Jay got to present on Flexi Leads and as expected, it was a crowd pleasing topic. Jay was very entertaining and dig a great job of presenting his argument.

If you’re not up to date on Flexi leads, there a great deal of provocation about the safety of their use. Like all tools, there’s a learning curve that must be maintained to master its use.

If you have never heard Jay Jack speak, you’re missing out. He’s very captivating and very real in his delivery and humour which makes his shows so much fun.

We also got to catch up with Jasmine Whiting while she has been travelling around the states. She has been hosting work shops, seminars and kicking butt in BJJ comps. It’s been wonderful to see her so happy and her personal growth coming along in leaps and bounds.

The IACP conference speakers this year have been top notch and it was wonderful to see Jay present.

Episode 94: Our summary abroad is really that. A summary of our time and experience during the Canadian seminar and the IACP conference.

We started with a very long plane flight from Sydney to Montreal, followed by a 2 hour drive the next day to Ottawa. From there we had a little time to settle in before the seminar started.

Over the following days we got to meet and teach some amazing people who were just incredible people. Some of those people even joined us at conference for the IACP.

Following on from there, we left Canada to head back to the USA to meet up with Shawn and Janet Edwards. Every year they hold a trial to honour the memory of Janet’s PSA 3 dog Zuko over a 2 day trail.

Glenn got to learn more judging experience and Pat assisted in decoying. After that we both headed off on another visit of Americas airports to head to the IACP conference.

This years conference was in Colorado Springs with over 500 people attending. It goes without saying that it was an amazing time and we met more great people.

Glenn was asked to join the IACP board of directors and was accepted which was a huge honour.

The entire experience was a blast and the conference ended it well

Jay Jack GRC update. Always wonderful to have our close personal friend Jay Jack back on the show. Being a fellow podcaster and one of our inspirations in creating our own show, we wanted to catch up.

On top of that, Jay will be in Australia this coming July 2019 to speak more about GRC. As we discussed on the show, this is a great dog sport that allows almost any dog type access. There are of course some conditions that may exclude dogs later on, however the entry levels are amazing.

If you don’t know who Jay is by now, he hosts his own show called GRC dog talk. Prior to that he was involved in a very successful podcast with fellow trainer and also friend of ours, Chad Mackin.

Jay is also a master in Brazilian jiu Jitsu, where he run his gym in Maine USA. This is also GRC headquarters.

When you hear Jay talk about his beginning in the dog world and how he shaped his career into becoming GRC, he attributes them to what he learned from his father.

You can hear Jay talk about that and more in episodes of Dog training conversations with Chad and many more great pearls of wisdom.

We can’t talk about a Jay Jack GRC update without mentioning our great friend, Jasmin Whiting, AKA Sweats. Jas is running and managing GRC in Australia and is bringing out Jay for his second tour.

End of year circle jerk is a celebration of accomplishments within our show for 2108. We would like to thank everyone who listened, made time for interviews, helped, gave feedback and believed in us.

We have both had a phenomenal year, making friend, reaching out, learning about others and networking. The stories and the people we have met on the journey have been surreal to say the least.

We cannot thank you enough for taking us into your homes, laughing, crying, learning and celebrating with us.

2018 was a great year and we want to make 2019 even better and we would love your input into how we can make that happen. If there’s a person you think we should interview, let us know. If there’s a topic you think we should discuss, tell us about it. If there’s a fucker in the industry we need to tear apart, drop us a line.

Finally, we want to send warm gooey love to our Patreon supporters. You cannot know what your support means to us and how much we appreciate your patronage.

We hope you enjoy the End of year circle jerk as much as we did putting it together.

Have a safe and Happy New Year everyone. We love you all

Glenn & Pat discuss the social responsibility issue with people making poor examples of themselves and particularly their breed when out in public spaces.  A lot of people want to be out in public spaces with their dog, enjoying the social environment, however there are people who are very vague about their dog and mistake excitability for aggression and problematic behaviour.

As always we are advocates of training and we encourage all people who own dogs to become more educated about teaching better form of engagement so you can really enjoy your dog without being in fear of it risking public safety or an altercation with another dog.

We also mention that Jay Jack’s SR test through his GRC program is a very easy, very accessible platform for all dog owners, especially the ones that need it, to give them a platform to help in providing a working outlet.

Hot seat stories from the IACP, comes directly from our time in Florida where we got to sit in a room with some of the many amazing people we know or met along the way at the conference.

We got to share stories, listen to origins of other trainers, share some laughs and generally hang out with amazing people while Jay Jack was heckling in the background.

As we have mentioned, one of the amazing experiences of travelling is meeting new people and making new friends from around the world as we have had the good fortune of doing and by having a conduit such as The Canine Paradigm and other industry shows, we can reach out to people all over the world to help bring our industry closer together.

We would like to thank, George Kittridge, Emma Grae Murdock, Bill Church, Josh Moran, Byron Flores, Jay Jack, Chad Mackin, Alex Edwards and Jas Whiting for a great session.

Get ready to get sweaty.

We like to acknowledge the people who listen to our show because without you it would just be two Johno’s sitting in a room entertaining each other. In this episode we answer some listener questions with TCP pearls of wisdom.

Thanks to everyone who took a moment to write in and again to those who provide feedback and send words of support to let us know what you like, what made you laugh, made you cry, what’s important and much more.

we want to do more of this in the future so please feel free to join us in our forums to discuss important topics OR even let us know about one you may be aware of.

While he is still in the country, we grabbed Jay Jack to further elaborate his theory on the layered stress model that he and Chad Mackin refer to. Join us for a fun session with an entertaining breakdown on how it works and what it means to owners so they can better understand why their dog may have reacted
